حققت المنتخبات العربية المشاركة في كأس العالم 2026 إنجازًا ماليًا غير مسبوق، بعدما ضمنت الحصول على نحو 115 مليون دولار من الجوائز المالية، في أفضل حصيلة عربية بتاريخ البطولة، مستفيدة من الزيادة الكبيرة التي أقرها الاتحاد الدولي لكرة القدم (فيفا) على قيمة الجوائز في النسخة الحالية.
وشهد مونديال 2026 مشاركة تاريخية لثمانية منتخبات عربية، وهو أكبر حضور عربي في تاريخ كأس العالم، بعد تأهل منتخبات قطر، المغرب، مصر، الجزائر، السعودية، العراق، الأردن وتونس إلى النهائيات.
وجاءت الحصة الأكبر من الجوائز من نصيب المنتخب المغربي بعد بلوغه الدور ربع النهائي، ٢١.٥ مليون دولار بينما حصلت مصر على مكافآت وصولها إلى دور الـ16، على ١٧.٥ مليون دولار والجزائر على مبلغ ١٣.٥ مليون دولار وكل من قطر والسعودية والأردن وتونس والعراق على ١٢.٥ مليون دولار، ليصل إجمالي العائدات إلى نحو 115 مليون دولار، وهو رقم يعكس التطور الكبير في الحضور العربي على الساحة العالمية.
وكان “فيفا” قد رفع القيمة الإجمالية للجوائز المالية في مونديال 2026 إلى رقم قياسي بلغ 871 مليون دولار، تشمل مكافآت التأهل والإعداد بالإضافة إلى الجوائز المرتبطة بالنتائج، في أكبر زيادة بتاريخ البطولة، حيث يحصل بطل العالم على 50 مليون دولار، بينما تبلغ جائزة الوصيف 33 مليونًا، ويحصل أصحاب المراكز من الخامس إلى الثامن على 19 مليون دولار لكل منتخب.
وتؤكد هذه الأرقام أن النسخة الحالية لم تكن استثنائية فقط من حيث عدد المنتخبات المشاركة، بل أيضًا من الناحية الاقتصادية، إذ وفرت عوائد مالية غير مسبوقة للاتحادات الوطنية، بما يمنحها فرصة أكبر للاستثمار في تطوير كرة القدم، والبنية التحتية، وبرامج إعداد المنتخبات والأجيال القادمة.
ويعد وصول إجمالي الجوائز العربية إلى 115 مليون دولار مؤشرًا جديدًا على تنامي الحضور العربي في كأس العالم، سواء من الناحية الفنية أو الاقتصادية، في بطولة ستظل علامة فارقة في تاريخ الكرة العربية.

She made a highly encouraging return to action at Chantilly when finishing third against the colts in the Gr.1 (PA) Qatar Derby des Pur-Sang Arabes de 4 Ans. This time, back against fillies and mares, she fully delivered on that promise with a courageous victory. She is now a Gr.1 (PA) winner.

Fakhira broke cleanly from the gates and was settled comfortably in fifth position in a race led by Bianca De Ghazal. The order remained largely unchanged during the early stages, with the leader controlling proceedings at the head of the field.

The tempo began to increase approaching the final bend, but Fakhira was still travelling extremely strongly, with Soumillon yet to ask her for a serious effort. Bianca De Ghazal remained in front, while Geneva moved up on her outside to challenge for the lead.

Inside the final 300m, Fakhira smoothly made her way to the front while still appearing to have plenty in reserve. Geneva continued to apply pressure on her outside, as TS Waseema began to deliver her challenge along the inside rail.

The three runners became locked together during a thrilling final furlong. Fakhira was forced to dig deep, but she found extra in the closing strides to prevail by a head.

Geneva produced a brave performance to finish second, while TS Waseema completed the placings in third.

Bred by Sheail bin Khalifa Al Kuwari, Fakhira is by Al Mamun Monlau out of Falsafah, a winner over 1200m in Qatar at the age of four.

Fakhira is a half-sister to Al Safinat and Najashee.

Houston: Canada became the first of the co-hosts to exit the World Cup as a clinical Morocco won 3-0 to reach the quarter-finals on Saturday in Houston.

The 2022 semi-finalists Morocco will face title favourites France or Paraguay as the business end of the tournament in North America approaches.

After a first half littered with more bookings than shots, midfielder Azzedine Ounahi fired the opener on 50 minutes.

Canada -- playing the biggest game in their footballing history -- pushed for an equaliser, but Ounahi scored his second to finally see off the resistance of Jesse Marsch's men.

Substitute Soufiane Rahimi slipped in the third with the last kick of the match.

It was tough on Canada, who were the better side in the opening period in front of a crowd of 68,777 as they sought to make more history.

They came into the contest in uncharted territory, having won a World Cup match and then a knockout game for the first time to get to the last 16.

They were clear underdogs and their fans were outnumbered by Morocco supporters at the air-conditioned Houston Stadium.

Yet they looked the more confident at the start, Tani Oluwaseyi turning sharply in the box and forcing Morocco's Montreal-born goalkeeper Yassine Bounou to save with a stretched-out leg after 10 minutes.

From Canada's fourth corner of the half, defender Alistair Johnston failed to make the most of a free header. Morocco were rattled.

After 20 minutes Mohamed Ouahbi's team suffered a big injury blow, Bayern Munich-bound Ismael Saibari -- who had scored three times at the tournament -- coming off for Rahimi.

Immediately after the drinks break Rahimi had a go optimistically from distance, registering Morocco's first shot on target with a quarter of the game gone.

There was a flashpoint shortly before half-time when Morocco captain Achraf Hakimi and defender Richie Laryea had a brief shoving match, with both shown yellow cards.

Referee Michael Oliver booked six players -- four from Morocco -- in a half high on niggly fouls and low on goal-mouth action.

The build-up to the last World Cup game of seven in Houston, with the United States celebrating its 250th birthday, was the highlight until that point.

Morocco, who beat Canada in the group phase at the 2022 World Cup, came out for the second period transformed.

Five minutes after the restart Hakimi pinged a low free-kick to Ounahi unmarked outside the box and he swept in first time.

Canada goalkeeper Maxime Crepeau had his view blocked by two of his defenders and the ball also went through Rahimi's legs.

On 82 minutes, Ounahi was the man in the right place again on the breakaway with another right-footed first-time finish, before Rahimi pounced in the 98th minute.

انتقدت بلجيكا قرار الاتحاد الدولي لكرة القدم (فيفا) بشأن المهاجم الأمريكي بالوغون، واصفةً إياه بـغير المفهوم، وذلك على لسان وزير الخارجية البلجيكي ماكسيم بريفو. وأبدى بريفو استغرابه من الملابسات التي أحاطت بالقرار، متسائلاً عن مدى تأثير أي تدخلات سياسية محتملة في القضية، ومؤكداً أن مثل هذه الأمور، إن صحت، تتعارض مع المبادئ الأساسية للرياضة وقواعد المنافسة العادلة. وقال الوزير البلجيكي إن أي قرار يتم تفسيره بتدخلات خارج الإطار الرياضي من شأنه أن يثير تساؤلات جدية حول مصداقية مبدأ اللعب النظيف الذي يدافع عنه الفيفا. وجاءت هذه التصريحات قبل ساعات من المواجهة المرتقبة بين بلجيكا والولايات المتحدة في دور الـ16 من كأس العالم 2026.
