Mostafa Mohamed Transfer to Konyaspor Hinges on Kramer Exit

Konyaspor and Nantes have agreed to a €1 million transfer for Mostafa Mohamed, contingent on Slovenian striker Blaž Kramer leaving the club.

Nantes expect the Egypt international to join Konyaspor in a permanent transfer, according to L’Équipe. Konyaspor board member Ali Camgöz subsequently said the two clubs had reached an agreement. However, he made the deal conditional on Kramer leaving the Turkish side.

Turkish outlet Konya’nın Sesi reported that agents initially offered Mohamed to Konyaspor before the club opened talks with Nantes and made progress towards an agreement.

On the other side, Kramer has received offers from Turkey and abroad. Konyaspor rejected an approach from Antalyaspor after considering it too low. The 30-year-old also asked Konyaspor for a new three-year contract and an improved salary. The club offered him a two-year extension, but the two sides have not reached an agreement.

Konyaspor had planned to use their remaining foreign player place on a winger. Kramer’s departure would open another place and allow the club to add Mohamed to their attack.

The latest development changes the picture surrounding the transfer. KingFut previously reported that Konyaspor officials did not intend to sign Mohamed after agents offered him to the club. However, the agreement with Nantes remains dependent on Konyaspor finding a solution for Kramer. Neither club has formally announced Mohamed’s transfer.

According to sources close to the player, Mostafa Mohamed travelled to Turkey while seeking a move away from Nantes, with Konyaspor emerging as the leading destination.

The 28-year-old has one year remaining on his Nantes contract. He has trained with the reserve team since returning to France in July following an extended absence from pre-season.

Nantes fined Mohamed after he failed to report for training on June 24. He returned nearly a month later but has remained outside the senior squad.

Mohamed scored four goals in 24 Ligue 1 appearances last season as Nantes suffered relegation. He does not want to remain in the French second tier, while his contract includes a salary reduction following the drop.

The former Zamalek striker joined Nantes on loan from Galatasaray in 2022 before completing a permanent move for about €6 million the following year.

He has scored 29 goals and provided eight assists in 136 appearances for Nantes. A move to Konyaspor would return him to the Süper Lig, where he scored 17 goals in 58 matches for Galatasaray.
