An annual mass ride-out around the Isle of Man TT course as part of the world-famous biking festival will form part of a relay connecting women bikers across the world.

The annual TT Legacy Lap will include motorcyclists representing the Women Riders World Relay, who will lead the cavalcade away from the grandstand on 31 May.

The first relay in 2019 saw the virtual baton passed between about 20,000 riders from more than 100 countries in a bid to change perceptions about women riders. catcrossgame.com

The 2026 Isle of Man TT Races are scheduled from Monday, 25 May 25 to Saturday, 6 June. The annual TT Legacy Lap sees hundreds of bike fans take to the famous 37.73-mile (61km) TT course in convoy on public roads.

Isle of Man ambassador for the relay, Lisa Brain, said the movement was "incredibly proud" to be leading the lap away from the "iconic event".

"The TT has always been about passion, community and respect for the Mountain course, and this year's Legacy Lap is a chance to celebrate all of those things together," she said.

Seeing women at the front of the convoy would send "a powerful message that motorcycling is for everyone", she said, which reflected the "mission to connect women riders around the world, inspire them to be the best they can be, and challenge perceptions of what women riders can achieve".

Those taking part in the event must assemble in the pit lane at the TT grandstand, on Glencrutchery Road in Douglas, at 08:30 BST.

Following a one-minute "sound of thunder" – where participants can rev their engines in a shared tribute – the convoy will set off at 09:30.

Mike Trout vs. Aaron Judge turns into starry slugfest of 3-time MVPs as Yanks edge Angels 11-10

NEW YORK (AP) — Mike Trout vs. Aaron Judge transformed a baseball game into a heavyweight slugfest.

Trout's second home run of the game bounced off the back wall behind the Angels bullpen in left-center, giving Los Angeles a two-run, eighth-inning lead on a night when Judge had homered twice to put the New York Yankees ahead.

Only there was more drama after a pair of three-time MVPs both homered twice in the same game for the first time in 70 years.

Trent Grisham hit his second home run of the evening — and season — to tie the score in the ninth inning. José Caballero trotted home on Jordan Romano's game-ending wild pitch that gave the Yankees a pulsating 11-10 win Monday and stopped a five-game losing streak.

“It was great. That’s baseball for you,” Trout marveled. "It’s what fans want, and to be able to see something like that, pretty cool.”

Only once before had a pair of players already three-time MVPs each homered twice in game, according to STATS Perform.

After Stan Musial had gone deep twice, Roy Campanella hit a tying, three-run drive in the ninth for his second of the game and Don Zimmer followed with a walk-off single to lead the Brooklyn Dodgers over the St. Louis Cardinals 9-8 at Ebbets FIeld on June 21, 1956.

And Trout nearly hit a third. He flied out to Cody Bellinger in front of the center-field wall, leaving the bases loaded in the fourth inning after the Angels tied the score 4-all with four unearned runs following Caballero's error on Trout's leadoff grounder to shortstop.

Judge had looked forward to crossing paths with Trout in a Yankee Stadium weight room.

“I was going to talk some smack to him after the one he hit all the way to the warning track,” Judge said, “but I didn’t get a chance to and then he answers right back with two big homers for him. You put that guy in a clutch situation, a big moment and he’s going to show up every single time, so it’s fun going back and forth with a guy like that, especially in New York and the Bronx.”

New York had lost five straight after an 8-2 start and had been 0-6 in one-run games.

There were seven home runs that traveled a total of 2,846 feet — more than half a mile — with the Yankees hitting five. Judge's first went 456 feet deep into the left-field bleachers and left the bat at 116.2 mph, the hardest-hit home run of the season.

Grisham and Trout each had five RBIs, and Judge had three.

Baseball's top four active home run leaders were all in the game. Judge, with 374, moved one ahead of teammate Paul Goldschmidt. New York slugger Giancarlo Stanton, who leads active players with 454, missed by about a foot with a double off the center-field wall in the fifth. Trout has 408 homers.

Trout, 34, won AL MVPs in 2014, '16 and '19 but has struggled with injuries for much of the past five seasons.

“He’s the greatest of all time. It’s been fun to watch his whole career, coming up at such a young age and instantly just putting yourself at the top of the list. It's special," Judge said.

Judge, who turns 34 on April 26, won AL MVPs in 2022, ‘24 and ’25.

“Those are two of the greats, so it’s really fun to watch,” Yankees starter Will Warren said.

Judge and Caballero each hit a two-run homer off Yusei Kikuchi for a 4-0 second-inning lead on an unseasonably warm 77-degree night. After Caballero’s error led to the unearned runs off Warren, Grisham pinch hit in the fifth and connected for a three-run drive against Shaun Anderson for a 7-4 lead.

Trout countered with a three-run homer in the sixth against Jake Bird, who was demoted to Triple-A after the game.

Judge’s homer off Anderson leading off the bottom half gave him 47 multi-homer games, one more than Mickey Mantle and trailing only Babe Ruth’s 68 among Yankees.

“To be surrounded by some greats like that, it’s special,” Judge said.

Josh Lowe knotted the score at 8 with a seventh-inning sacrifice fly, and Trout’s two-run drive in the eighth off Camilo Doval put the Angels ahead 10-8 with his 31st multi-homer game. Judge, watching from right field, shook his head.

“Every time he comes to the Bronx, man, he puts on a show," Judge said. "I hate to see it, but it’s fun competing against a guy like that.”

Jazz Chisholm Jr. singled to start the ninth against Jordan Romano, and Grisham reached down and pulled a slider into the right-field seats as the closer put both hands on his head.

Caballero doubled and stole third without a throw. And after Austin Wells walked, Caballero scored when Romano bounced a full-count slider to Ryan McMahon to the backstop on the ninth pitch of the plate appearance.

New York had not won a game while allowing double-digit runs since beating Minnesota 14-12 on July 23, 2019.

Yankees manager Aaron Boone described his own feelings as “tough ... for the belly.”

Then he switched his thoughts to his players.

“You get a lead, then you get another lead, and then it’s gone,” he said. "For the guys, maybe it was good to have a game like that where it was a little messy."

Marcos Senesi: Man United’s pursuit of Bournemouth star ramps up

Marcos Senesi: Man United’s pursuit of Bournemouth star ramps up
Marcos Senesi: Man United’s pursuit of Bournemouth star ramps up

Manchester United’s hopes of striking a deal for Marcos Senesi have increased as a major rival for the AFC Bournemouth defender is expected to drop out of the race, according to Ben Jacobs.

Free Transfer

Despite enjoying a superb campaign at the heart of Andoni Iraola’s side, Senesi will depart the Vitality Stadium at the end of the season. The 28-year-old Argentine‘s contract is set to expire, and he has already reached a mutual understanding with the Cherries that a renewal will not be signed.

Instead, he will test the free agency market, with a host of top clubs across Europe expressing interest in a bargain swoop for one of the Premier League’s most in-form centre-backs.

Initially, the former Feyenoord star was believed to be seeking a move to a European giant such as Atletico Madrid, FC Barcelona or Juventus. However, recent reports indicate he is now prioritising one of England’s top six, with a firm desire to remain on British shores next season.

United are one of his suitors, with INEOS on the hunt for defensive reinforcements even after the decision to extend Harry Maguire’s contract. They were expected to be joined in the hunt by Chelsea, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur, but in a sharp twist, Jacobs reveals the Blues are now set to bow out of the race as they look for more height to add to their backline.

Another one bites the dust

The talkSPORT reporter reveals Senesi is “hoping to agree terms with a new club” before the current season finishes.

“A verbal agreement between Senesi and Bournemouth was in place heading into the January window, with all parties comfortable he would not exit mid-season. This proved to be the case, with the 28-year-old staying put despite being previously targeted by Chelsea, as well as interest from further afield.

“Sources have told talkSPORT that Senesi was originally keen to explore a move abroad and had initial interest from both Juventus and Atletico Madrid. He is still being tracked by Italian clubs, but there is also Premier League interest from Tottenham and Manchester United.”

Jacobs contends Chelsea are “prioritising height and strength” as they look to provide a more experienced partner to Levi Colwill. As such, the 6’1 Senesi – a defender with more talents in possession than out – has dropped down the ranks, despite having many admirers at Stamford Bridge.

Described as “ultra-progressive centre-back in possession who commits a very high number of defensive actions per game,” Senesi is an aggressive defender who still ranks poorly for aerial duels. This does not detract from his overall effectiveness as a backline orchestrator, but it does mean he needs specific conditions in which to thrive.

Final Thoughts

The west London club dropping out of the race is a major boost for United as the pool of options Senesi will consider continues to narrow. For example, Tottenham Hotspur would fit the bill on paper, but are increasingly at risk of relegation and have become a graveyard for new signings.

This would leave Liverpool as the Red Devils’ main competitor for the Argentine enforcer, with the caveat being he plays in the exact same position – left centre-back – as Arne Slot’s captain, Virgil van Dijk. By contrast, Senesi would be in competition with his compatriot, Lisandro Martinez, at Old Trafford, a talented defender but one who has been unable to stay fit since joining from Ajax for £57 million in 2022.

It is increasingly likely United will be able to offer Champions League football next season as well, while Liverpool’s hopes of returning to Europe’s elite competition hang in the balance at present. An experienced alternative to Martinez would prove an astute signing, as last night’s implosion to Leeds United at Old Trafford proved.

Draper retires in first round as injury woes continue

Britain's Jack Draper retired in the third set of his first-round match against Tomas Martin Etcheverry at the Barcelona Open because of a knee injury.

Draper, playing his first match of the clay-court season, won the first set against Argentina's Etcheverry 6-3 but began to have difficulty with his movement and lost the second 6-3.

The 24-year-old received attention from a physio and had tape applied to an area below his right knee shortly before the deciding set.

His serve was broken twice by Etcheverry in the third set and, after struggling to get around the court, he conceded the contest at 4-1 down.

Draper, ranked 28th in the world, has been cautious during a return from an arm injury and pulled out of the recent Monte Carlo Masters before the tournament.

He was absent for six months because of a bruised bone in his left serving arm, before returning to competitive action in February.

"Sad to retire in Barcelona. I've tried hard these last months to stay positive and give my all," Draper posted on Instagram.

"It will take time but I will work my way out of this. Thank you for all the support throughout this process."

The Barcelona Open was Draper's fourth event since he made his comeback.

Etcheverry said: "I like how he plays - he's a great fighter.

"Hopefully he can recover as soon as he can to get back on tour because the tour likes him."

Cameron Norrie, who replaced Draper as British number one last month, beat Switzerland's Stan Wawrinka 6-4 6-7 (5-7) 6-4 to reach the second round.

Norrie served for the match at 5-4 in the second set but let the 41-year-old back into the contest before he got himself back on track in the deciding set.

"I put myself in a winning position serving at a set and 5-4 up," said 30-year-old Norrie, who will play Ethan Quinn of the US next.

"I played a little tentatively in two shots and then I was very tight in the tie-break. I probably should have won it then, but credit to him.

"I played at a really good level in the third set."

Gary Neville: Pundit picks out Man United’s great weakness after Leeds’ loss

Gary Neville: Pundit picks out Man United’s great weakness after Leeds’ loss
Gary Neville: Pundit picks out Man United’s great weakness after Leeds’ loss

Manchester United fell to a disheartening 2-1 defeat to Leeds United at Old Trafford.

After a break of more than three weeks, United were certainly ring rusty and fell behind after just four minutes when Noah Okafor struck.

The Red Devils had a chance to go ten points clear of sixth-placed Chelsea but failed to take advantage of the Blues’ loss to Manchester City.

Second to everything

Pundit Gary Neville reflected on the game to Sky Sports and lambasted United’s performance. He claimed, “let’s be clear, from minute one they balls get played in behind, they had runners in behind them, they got physically outmuscled, didn’t look like they were connecting.”

He continued, “the gaps, to be fair, between the midfield, the back and the front players has been really good under Michael Carrick, the distances. That was missing tonight from minute one. Leeds United could either play it behind or through midfield. They just didn’t get anything right tonight Manchester United.”

Lack of depth

Neville also highlighted that the squad is evidently a lot weaker than certain rivals, such as Manchester City.

He asserted, “what it does demonstrate is that when you take two or three players out of the team… you know, I am looking at the bench before the game and I was thinking, you look at that City bench and then at United and I know they have a lot of injuries but it just demonstrates a bit of a reality check tonight for United. It was probably Michael Carrick’s most difficult game.”

Neville still believes that “overall” the club is in a very good position, seven points clear of Chelsea and going there this Saturday evening. Nonetheless, the squad depth and performance also highlighted for him “how far away” the club is from challenging for the title.

Kobbie Mainoo missed out through injury, Harry Maguire through suspension, and Bryan Mbeumo was dropped to the bench for Benjamin Sesko by Carrick.

Neville explained, “you lose two, three or four players out of the team and all of a sudden it looks a bit awkward, a little bit clumsy and not connected and no combinations. I have liked a lot of what I have seen under Michael Carrick when they have had the likes of Mason Mount and Bruno Fernandes, Bryan Mbeumo, Amad and Matheus Cunha and then Benjamin Sesko coming off the bench and being a bit of a battering ram brings something as well. Just the fact they didn’t have that ordinary spine of Mbeumo, Kobbie Mainoo with Casemiro and with Harry Maguire there, it just felt before the game that they weren’t quite right.”

The pundit did praise Leeds’ performance, though, and claimed nobody expected them to play as well as they did and that United actually showed some good fight when they went down to ten men.

The Red Devils will now have to respond when they face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Saturday night, in what could prove to be critical in United’s pursuit of Champions League football.
