Crimson Desert är tydligen på väg till Switch 2

Ända sedan {Baldur's Gate III} gjorde rent hus på prisutdelningar för tre år sedan har djupare rollspel varit stekhett. Vi såg det inte minst förra året med {Clair Obscur: Expedition 33} och så sent som i våras med {Crimson Desert}.

Nu avslöjar högste chefen för utvecklaren av sistnämnda, Pearl Abyss, under ett möte med investerare att de just nu håller på att undersöka ett sätt som nästan garanterat skulle ge en betydande försäljnings-boost. De vill nämligen släppa det till Switch 2 och har det redan spelbart:

"We believe it is important to showcase Crimson Desert on as many platforms as possible. We are reviewing the Nintendo Switch 2, and it is currently being developed to a level where basic gameplay is possible. However, platform expansion is not just a simple port; the key is whether we can fully maintain the graphics, action, and open-world experience of Crimson Desert on that device."

Ännu återstår dock mycket arbete för att det ska släppas en Switch 2-version som håller måttet, och Pearl Abyss-bossen avrundar:

"The Switch 2 version still requires optimization and technical verification, and we must also review partner collaboration and whether it meets our quality standards. Therefore, it is difficult to confirm a release schedule. We will announce it transparently once there is confirmed information."
