Kingdom Come Deliverance 2-regissören är väldigt stolt över spelets Gay-nomineringar

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 har nominerats till två utmärkelser i Gayming Magazine's 2026 Gayming Awards. Spelets regissör Daniel Vávra säger sig vara otroligt stolt över dessa nomineringar och passar även på att säga hur andra spel gör representation på fel vis.

I ett uttalande på X säger han följande:
"TRIGGER WARNING. Among all the various awards and nominations we've received, we've also just been nominated for the @gaymingmag GAYMING AWARDS! I'm really proud of that, because I absolutely stand by the fact that the way we did it is exactly how something like this should be done. Non-coercively, naturally, and educationally (because we show how things really were in the Middle Ages without idealizing them)--and without shoving it down anyone's throat or trying to re-educate them like so many titles that are rightfully called 'woke' these days. We made the gay community happy and gave them the CHOICE to be themselves, just like we did for others in other choices and quests, and anyone who isn't interested probably didn't even notice. Except, of course, for [a] very small and very loud minority."

Daniel Vávra pekar på att flertalet andra spel kör ner "budskapet" i halsen på spelarna. Han menar också att man med sitt spel då gjorde det helt valfritt att inleda en samkönad romans. Vidare gjorde man det på rätt vis när man gav spelarna valmöjligheten - och att de som inte är intresserade av det hela förmodligen inte ens märkte att möjligheten fanns där.

Vávra säger vidare; "It was my idea, my decision and my responsibility and I had to convince others to do it. I believe that [the] absolute majority of people get it just as it was intended, and the sales and user reviews prove it. None of that means that I personally don't find the abundance of forced 'woke' nonsense in the entertainment industry annoying at the same time."

Mycket kängor åt det som ofta kallas "woke" med andra ord - samtidigt som spelet då erbjuder något som en "very small and very loud minority" gärna då kritiserar på det viset för att det överhuvudtaget finns med. Vávra själv har sedan spelets release lämnat sin position hos studion för att arbeta på en kommande Kingdom Come-film.

Spelet fick som sagt två nomineringar . Den ena var "Gayming Fan Favorite Award" och karaktären Hans nominerades i kategorin "Best LGBTQ+ Character Award". Samtliga nomineringar finns att läsa här.
