DOJ moves to dismiss charges against Olympian David Hearn for pool damage

The Justice Department has moved to dismiss criminal charges against former Olympian David Hearn for damaging the Lincoln Memorial reflecting pool, shifting the blame to flawed contractor installation.

In a 20-page court filing in DC Superior Court on Friday, government lawyers stated that the damage was likely caused by a "rush to complete the project" prior to the America 250 celebration. The department now attributes the pool liner damage to the contractor rather than Hearn. tr-sport.click
