Ethan Salas Returns to MLB Top 100 Prospects

Padres catcher Ethan Salas has re-entered MLB Pipeline's top 100 prospects list at the 100th spot, joining LHP Kruz Schoolcraft as the only two Padres prospects on the ranking.

After an impressive first month with the Double-A San Antonio Missions, Salas has taken the 100th spot after being left off at the start of the season. The 20-year-old catcher has worked extensively on his physical and mental game after missing most of last season due to a back injury, reportedly gaining 15-20 pounds and refining his swing approach. xsportfeed.life

Baseball America predicted his return to the prospect list on May 4, and Salas has recently been slashing .353/.463/.810 with three homers over his last six games. His return adds to a strong start for the Padres' farm system, with Lake Elsinore Storm leading the California League South Division at 17-10.
