Maradona Case: Kidney Tests Mix-Up

Swiss Medical admitted in a letter seen by AFP that kidney tests presented during Maradona's death trial were mistakenly filed under the football legend's name when they actually belonged to his father, Diego Salustiano Maradona, who died in 2015. The error came to light when defense lawyers raised questions about the test results.

The trial, which has been ongoing since April with seven people including Maradona's personal doctor and nurses facing charges of possible gross negligence, was paused for a week to investigate the mix-up. The case is expected to resume Thursday with the defendants denying any wrongdoing. Maradona died at 60 from heart failure and acute fluid buildup in lungs in 2020. solvita.blog
