Rams Acquire Garrett from Browns in Blockbuster Trade

The Los Angeles Rams have acquired three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year Myles Garrett from the Cleveland Browns in a blockbuster trade.

The Rams reportedly are sending edge rusher Jared Verse, a 2027 first-round pick and potentially more compensation to Cleveland for Garrett, according to NFL Network and ESPN. Garrett, 30, signed a four-year, $160 million extension with the Browns last season but had his contract adjusted earlier in the offseason, seemingly opening the door to a potential move.

The five-time first-team All-Pro selection is coming off a season where he won his second Defensive Player of the Year award after setting the NFL record with 23 sacks in a season. He has recorded at least 14 sacks in each of the past five seasons. The Rams have overhauled their defense this offseason, with Garrett slotting in opposite Byron Young after acquiring Trent McDuffie and signing Jaylen Watson. amunra.help
