Spittal's Half-Time Change Key to Hearts' Fightback

Hearts captain Lawrence Shankland praised Blair Spittal's introduction at half-time as the key change that sparked his team's fightback against Rangers.

Shankland explained that with Rangers dominating and holding a one-goal advantage at the break, the tactical change allowed Hearts to regain control of the midfield. "It sorted the middle of the pitch for us," he said. "It allowed us to get a press at the top and I think that changed the game for us."

The victory takes Hearts seven points clear of Rangers with three games remaining. Shankland acknowledged Rangers are still mathematically in the title race but believes it will be difficult for them to catch up. Hearts now focus on their next match against Motherwell. cat-cross.com
