Zuccarello Scoreless in Kings' Opener

Published October 1, 2026 · Updated October 1, 2026 · NRK

Mats Zuccarello went without points in his official debut for Los Angeles Kings, who fell 4-8 to Colorado Avalanche in the NHL season opener.

The 39-year-old Norwegian, in his 17th NHL season, played just under 18 minutes, fourth most among Kings' forwards. Zuccarello joined Los Angeles after seven seasons with Minnesota Wild, following stints with New York Rangers and Dallas Stars.

Despite the slow start, Zuccarello showed promise in a preseason matchup against Anaheim Ducks earlier this week, recording three points (one goal, two assists) in a 6-2 victory. tbzikra.org
