Dylan Harper says Spurs' collective confidence is 'through the roof'

Dylan Harper tied a team high in scoring, leading the San Antonio Spurs back into the win column on Tuesday to complete their annual rodeo road trip.

Harper produced 22 points, two rebounds and two assists in a 131-91 wire-to-wire victory over the Philadelphia 76ers at the Xfinity Mobile Arena. He went 8-of-11 from the field, including 2-of-4 from 3-point range, in 21 minutes of action off the bench.

The second overall pick tallied 14 points in the first half alone, helping the Spurs take a 78-53 advantage over the Sixers into halftime. After the New York Knicks snapped their 11-game win streak on Sunday with a 114-89 win, the Spurs responded by leading by as many as 49 points.

"The energy we had, we didn't come out just walking around; we kind of had that energy," Harper said. "What happened in New York, I think we just wanted to prove to us and to everyone that we're still here."

Harper and the Spurs have been one of the hottest teams, posting an NBA-best 12-1 record since Feb. 1, including an 8-1 mark on their road trip. They are in the top five in both offense (third) and defense (second) over that span, good for a plus-14 net rating (second).

Behind their recent run, the Spurs swept the Western Conference awards in February by claiming the Player (Victor Wembanyama), Defensive Player (Wembanyama), Rookie (Harper) and Coach of the Month (Mitch Johnson), becoming just the third team in history to do so.

The Spurs (44-17) sit just three games back of the Oklahoma City Thunder for first place, with 21 games left in the regular season. With contributions from the top of the roster to the bottom, Harper and the Spurs are peaking at the right time.

"I think confidence is through the roof," Harper said. "I think that everyone is finding their stride at the right time. There are still a lot of things we need to work on, but I think what we got from this trip and what we showed ourselves what we're capable of, we're very excited going into March and April."
