Chargers to Release Guard Mekhi Becton

The Los Angeles Chargers announced plans to cut veteran guard Mekhi Becton, a move that will free $9.7 million in cap space and leave the team with $2.5 million in dead money.

Becton signed a two‑year deal with the Chargers last March, but the contract contained no guaranteed money for 2026. He appeared in 15 regular‑season games and started the playoff loss to the Patriots, but injuries and a lack of guaranteed pay have led the team to pursue the release.
