Pavan, 36, was staying in Stellenbosch for the DP World Tour’s Investec South African Open when he fell into an empty elevator shaft on Feb. 25, fracturing several vertebrae and his shoulder. He underwent multiple surgeries and is now walking slowly as part of a five‑week rehabilitation program in South Africa.
A GoFundMe set up by a former Texas A&M teammate has raised over $81,000 to help cover his medical costs. Pavan thanked friends, family, sponsors and supporters on Instagram, saying the outpouring of prayers and messages has been a "miracle" for his recovery.
